![]() The girl who plays Tessa sounds a little like Demi Lovato when she sings. I also enjoyed the music, even though there was quite a bit of auto tune. Watch the movie and you'll see what I mean. I like how Reed falls for who Tessa really is and not the stage version. Luckily, Tessa, aka Cinderella, and her prince, Reed, were so great in their roles that I kept going. Well, If The Shoe Fits is actually WORSE than the others! Jennifer Tilley plays the stepmom and she honestly made me want to stop watching! From seeing this performance, she'd be better off doing comedic burlesque routines instead. The Hillary Duff, Selena Gomez, and Lucy Hale versions are adorable, but all have step families that are so over dramatic. I'm a sucker for ALL Cinderella adaptations. Check out the Grease style number in the beginning of the movie. If you loved the Cinderella Franchise from Hilary Duff right to Selena Gomez's version or you seen Disney's Descendants and you became a fan of Sofia Carson then check it out for yourself by buying it or watching it online. Carson as Bella Snow was obviously a Hannah Montana clone as I seen the movie today and all I could think of was why is Hannah Montana in this movie for? Then I discovered it was actually Sofia Carson donning a blonde wig. As well as this the story is so predictable you can pretty much figure what is going to happen once the 2nd and last act kicks in. Jennifer Tilly was annoying as the stepmother Divine(who there was also a drag queen named that one time). Sofia reminds me of a cross between Demi Lovato and Lily Collins from The Blind Side. So will Reed discover who Bella Snow really is? Overall I am kinda getting tired of these so called Cinderella movies,we already had one last year with Lily James and before that we had the likes of Selena Gomez,Lucy Hale and Hilary Duff all starring in Cinderella films. ![]() Problems rise however when Reed begins to fall in love with Bella/Tessa and Tessa has to be in two places at once in one certain scene. Bella/Tessa auditions and she wins over Reed Hart's affections for Cinderella. Just as you have guessed there is yet another direct movie based on Cinderella, this time starring Disney's Descendants Sofia Carson who plays a young girl named Tessa who is staying in a resort with her mean stepmother Divine(played by an unrecognizable Jennifer Tilly)who's two daughters hear that there is an international pop star named Reed Hart(Thomas Law)who is holding auditions for Cinderella(of course).Tessa tries to audition for the part but since her stepmother will recognize her she stumbles on a make up artist named Georgia who asks her why she isn't auditioning and so Georgia comes up with a plan for Tessa to disguise herself by donning a blonde wig, contacts and a British accent donning the name of Bella Snow(I swear Sofia is like Miley Cyrus in Hannah Montana when she dons the blonde wig only Sofia can challenge accents of course). ![]() So, I won't favout it, unless desperate to see it. Anyway, some people would enjoy it, particularly the young girls. He could have turned it to full fledged musical, but he didn't. Not an ideal project for his kind of field of expertise. It was made by a choreographer turned director as his first feature film. I need not to say anything about the story, it was just altered tale of what you know very well. The lowest one in the series and a warning bell to stop from going for more films in the series. ![]() But still not the best you could anticipate. That's the negative of this, though being a different version, like the timeline, setting, cast makes it watchable. One of the most famous fairy tales of all and the most adapted to the screen as well. After Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez and Lucy Hale, not its time for Sofia Carson. I watched it because I've seen the other three in the series of the present-day adaptations of the classical Cinderella story. And I'm sure there are still more variations of the story of the girl from the cinders coming. I think if the late drag performer Divine from Lust In The Dust would probably chuckle a bit. Stepmother is Jennifer Tilly who literally smothers the screen with her off the wall performance with the name of Divine. He's quite the hunk himself and might be destined for Disney bubblegum stardom. The opportunity to be in a music video with British pop star Thomas Law as a modern day motorcycle riding Prince Charming. Now if she can only avoid that evil stepmother who of course favors her own children. She may not have a fairy godmother here, but she knows an opportunity when she sees it. Sofia Carson the latest of a long line of fresh girl pop singers from the Disney Studios is a sweet and charming Cinderella, in her case a girl named Tessa. ![]() Even if you just count all the ones that come from the Magic Kingdom. There's something so eternal about Cinderella that it never loses its appeal no matter how many Gazillion versions of the story are made. ![]()
